President Ruto Urges MPs To Promote Saudi Healthcare Job Opportunities

President William Ruto expressed concern at the low number of applications received for healthcare vacancies in Saudi Arabia during a recent government retreat. Despite government efforts to publicize the 2,500 available positions, only 500 applications were submitted, prompting the president to call for greater action from elected officials.

Ruto emphasized the role of Members of Parliament in informing their constituents about the opportunities. He highlighted his own efforts to promote overseas employment opportunities for Kenyans and questioned why MPs weren’t actively encouraging applications.

The president further highlighted the apparent contradiction between some MPs lobbying for government positions for unsuccessful election candidates while overlooking readily available job opportunities for ordinary citizens.

Addressing Concerns and Emphasizing Importance

While acknowledging the media coverage and public discussions surrounding the vacancies, Ruto questioned the level of awareness and engagement from MPs. He stressed the importance of proactive action, considering the significant number of Kenyans seeking employment and the potential benefits of these opportunities.
