Police Investigating Police investigate death of 28 year old found in Kileleshwa apartment
Police in Nairobi, Kenya, are investigating the deaths of two people who were found dead in their homes on Wednesday, June 21.
The first victim was a 28-year-old woman named Faith Wanjiru Kirathe. Her body was found in her apartment at the National Housing Corporation.
Kirathe’s family members told police that they had tried to wake her up in the morning, but she was unresponsive. They called the police when she did not wake up by 8am.
When police arrived, they broke down the door to Kirathe’s apartment and found her dead body in bed. There were no visible physical wounds on her body.
The cause of Kirathe’s death is still under investigation.
The second victim was a 32-year-old man named Moverick Oteki Nyakambi. His body was found in his home in Kiambaa, Kiambu County.
Nyakambi is believed to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning. A charcoal jiko that had been burning overnight was found next to his body.
Police found a suicide note in Nyakambi’s home. The note said that he did not want a postmortem to be conducted.
The deaths of Kirathe and Nyakambi are both being investigated.
