Kenya Power has announced a planned power outage scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2025, as part of routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades across several counties. The maintenance will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., affecting various regions as outlined below:

NAIROBI COUNTY

Area: General Mathenge, Parklands
Affected zones include General Mathenge Drive, Mpaka Road, parts of 2nd and 3rd Parklands, Eldama Ravine, Suswa Road, Kusi Lane, and surrounding areas.

KAJIADO COUNTY

Area: Lower Matasia, Ngong Hills
Power will be interrupted in areas including St. Patrick, Mwalimu Road, Oleteyani, Ilmasin, Olooses, Kisamis, Homeboys, Lingaloj, Ilidoriak, Tinga, Esonorua Matasia, Nkoroi, Olesurutia, Tajiri Road, Merisho, and adjacent customers.

UASIN GISHU COUNTY

Area: Likuyani, Ivugwi
Affected areas: Mbinga, Ivugwi, Sango, Likuyani, Frank, Lugulu, and nearby residents.

KAKAMEGA COUNTY

Area: Butere Market
The outage will impact Butere Market, Shashiala Market, Maondo, Khomailo, Mapole, Eshishiebo Market, Emanyulia Market, and surrounding customers.

MERU COUNTY

Areas: Kaaga, Kithoka, Nkoune
Residents in Nkoune, Mwiriene Primary, Meru Teachers College, Mwithumwilu Secondary School, Kaaga Girls High School, Mpakone Village, Kaaga area, LR Petrol Station, Gatimene Gardens, Runogone, KEMU University, Tuliza FM, Gakurine, Kiandiu, Chungu, Kwiriro Market, Kaithe Market, Kithoka, Freds Academy, Thiiri Cultural Centre, Bishop Lawi, Imathiu Primary and Secondary Schools, and Kithoka Ripples will be affected.

KIAMBU COUNTY

Area 1: Munyu Dispensary, Magana
This includes Magajo Primary, Farainya, St. Paul Gatuanyaga, Magana Primary, Munyu Girls, Munyu Dispensary, Munyu Police Station, Githima Shopping Centre, Komo Shopping Centre, Juja Farm A, Kwa Ruhi, Juja Farm Mukuyu-Ini, Kwa Murage, and adjacent customers.

Area 2: Part of Githunguri Town, Mukua
The outage will affect Fresha Dairies, Palm House Dairies, County Pride, Thakwa, Wanjo, Githunguri Shops, AP Canteen, Beta Care, Equity Bank, Shell Githunguri, and surrounding businesses and homes.

MOMBASA COUNTY

Area: Mwakirunge
Power will be cut in Husein Dairy, Kimbunga, Marimani, Voroni, Mwakirunge Dumpsite, Mwakirunge Primary, Vifwanjoni, Bwagamoyo, KAA, John Ria, and neighboring areas.

Kenya Power advises customers in the affected regions to plan accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the temporary interruptions. The maintenance is aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring a more reliable power supply in the long term.
