The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled power interruptions in various parts of the country on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. The planned outages are part of ongoing maintenance and infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving electricity distribution. Affected regions include Nairobi, Nandi, Kisumu, Kakamega, Kwale, and Kilifi counties.

Nairobi County

Affected Areas: Jakaya Kikwete Road, Milimani
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Impact: Areas set to experience power interruptions include parts of Valley Road, EACC, Delamare Apartments, Ambassador Court, The Heron Hotel, parts of Ralph Bunche Road, parts of Statehouse Avenue, Middle East Bank, Comfort Hotel, Saggy Suits, Sagret Hotel, Telkom Plaza, Swiss Mount Hotel, Pitman House, Department of Defense (DoD), parts of Woodlands Road, the Russian and Chinese Embassies, Pharmacy & Poisons Board, parts of Jabavu Road, Jabavu Lane, and surrounding customers.

Affected Areas: Moi University, Ollessos Technical
Time: 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Impact: Power outages will affect Moi University, Ollessos Technical, Kamunyebaim, Terige, and nearby areas.

Kisumu County

Affected Areas: Nyahera Market
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Impact: The scheduled outage will affect Nyahera Market, Nyahera C/Factory, Dago Market, and adjacent areas.

Kakamega County

Affected Areas: Ematiha Market
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Impact: Residents and businesses in Ematiha Market, Ewamuhumbi, Shikoti, Eshihoni, Tumaini, Shirakaru, Emukaya, and surrounding areas should expect power interruptions.

Kwale County

Affected Areas: Mvindeni
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Impact: The outage will impact Galu Primary, Mwabungo, Muhaka, Kilole, Magaoni, Mvindeni, Romika, Kona ya Musa, Ratinga, Ibiza, Bongwe, Jorori, and nearby areas.

Kilifi County

Affected Areas: Kokotoni
Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Impact: Residents in Kafudini Dispensary, Volcano, Kafudini, Mgadini Primary, Tifu, Kokotoni, Mwangatani, Kibanda Hasara, and adjacent areas will experience power interruptions.
