Photos from Catherine Kasavuli’s emotional funeral service

Friends and family of the late Catherine Kasavuli gathered earlier today at Friends Church in Nairobi to bid their loved one goodbye. As seen on social media the ceremony also attracted the likes of Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, Narc Party leader Martha Karua and Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba who delivered condolence messages from President William Ruto.

Having been among the first female journalist in kenya, her loss was undeniably a big blow to the media industry; but looking on the brighter side – her memory remains alive among many kenyans who looked up to her and even followed in her footsteps in terms of career.

Although the ceremony was emotional for close relatives not forgetting the son she left behind; we understand Comedian Sande Bush popularly known as Dr Ofweneke brought a little sunshine with his light jokes – turning the memorial service to a celebratory mood because although she is gone – the late Kasavuli had undeniably lived life to the fullest.
