Nyota Ndogo graciously thanks president Uhuru after being compensated following demolition of her 3 bedroomed bungalow

Coast-based singer Nyota Ndogo was among many residents in Voi whose houses were demolished sometimes in December 2014.

Hundreds of homes were demolished to make way for the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway. Nyota Ndogo’s 3 bedroomed bungalow was among the houses that were brought down.

The government however compensated each affected person who was affected by the demolition. Nyota Ndogo put up another bungalow in Voi after being compensated her for all the trouble.

The singer recently took to social media to thank president Uhuru Kenyatta for the compensation. She reveals that she cried when her old bungalow was brought down.

“Baada ya serekali kuleta barabara mpya ya gari la moshi nilikua moja kati ya waliobomoa nyumba zao ili barabara lipite.but kitu kinanifanya nimpende @ukenyatta ni kusema kila mwenye haki yake alipwe nililipwa nikajenga hii..ngoje niwapostie nyumba ya kuanza ambayo kila nikiangalia kwa google nalia couse nimepitia mengi kuijenga nikiwa na mimba ya barka. WANAWAKE TUNAWEZA TUKIAMUA.MWENYE MUNGU ANAMPA MWENYE SUBRA,” wrote Nyota Ndogo.
