Nyaboke Moraa shares emotional tribute about her relationship with late daughter

Veteran actress Nyaboke Moraa and her ex-partner Blak Aende recently held a moving memorial service for their late daughter, Marrie Achieng, at CITAM Embakasi.

The gathering brought together family, friends, and supporters to pay tribute to the young woman who had touched many lives.

During the memorial, Nyaboke Moraa opened up for the first time since Marrie’s passing, sharing heartfelt reflections on her relationship with her daughter. With deep emotion, she recalled the joy and challenges of raising Marrie.

“I first met Marrie in 2005 at exactly 3 PM. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen,” Nyaboke began, her voice filled with emotion. She shared how, despite being a teenager at the time, she and Marrie’s father were thrilled at her arrival.

Nyaboke reminisced about the early days with Marrie, recalling both joyful and challenging moments. She fondly remembered how Marrie would cry, leading to playful exchanges with her father about who would comfort her.

“My heart is broken. I don’t know how I’m going to tell my child to rest in peace… I still haven’t believed that my child has gone. I do not have the strength to tell her to rest in peace,” she said tearfully.

Marrie’s childhood friend, Debra, also shared a touching eulogy, highlighting Marrie’s warm personality and sense of humor. Debra, who had known Marrie since primary school, described her as a “walking and talking bundle of joy and occasional chaos.”

She reflected on their first meeting and how Marrie’s humor helped build a lasting friendship. “From the first day we met, you made me feel welcome. Our friendship continued even when we reunited in high school,” Debra said, remembering the special bond they shared.
