Popular content creator and travel vlogger Natalie Tewa recently opened up about why she ended her engagement with fiancé Francis Mugane.

During a candid Q&A session on her YouTube channel, Natalie disclosed that the relationship ended because she was not genuinely happy. When asked about the breakup, she explained, “That didn’t work out, and I’m not one to do things for society if I’m not happy.”

Speculation about their split arose in December 2023 when Natalie unfollowed Francis on social media and removed their engagement photos. The couple had become engaged in February 2023 after a romantic proposal, just months after Natalie had shared her hopes for a lasting relationship, stating, “I am somewhere there and looking to get married.”

Before her engagement to Francis, Natalie had ended a relationship with Moses Mukiibi, also known as Rnaze, four years earlier. She later dated photographer Sam Muchai, but they also parted ways after a few months.

Despite the breakup, Natalie remains open to dating again, expressing a preference for older men. “For me, a 10-year age difference is nothing. I have always believed that men take a bit of time to mature. So, if we are on the same level, then who is going to take charge and lead the family properly?” she elaborated.

During the same interview, Natalie also reflected on her difficult childhood, including her parents’ divorce. “My parents divorced when I was young. We used to live in Uganda, where my mum had a really good job. Then something happened, our house caught fire and burned down, and there was drama with my dad,” she shared.

After the fire, Natalie and her mother relocated to Nairobi, where they faced financial hardships. “My mother tells me she used to sell second-hand clothes for us to survive. She eventually got a house in the Nairobi Dam estate in Lang’ata. I grew up there and used to ride bikes with boys in the estate,” Natalie recounted.
