Nairobi Fight Nights: Comedian YY Dominates the Ring
At first glance, boxing appears simple—two opponents step into the ring, each aiming to outlast the other. However, the sport follows a set of fundamental rules:
-
Be unpredictable in both offense and defense.
-
If you make your opponent miss, you must make them pay.
-
Step with purpose.
-
The same footwork principles apply to punches.
-
Move your head before and after throwing a punch.
A Night of Fists and Fury
The Nairobi Fight Nights take place every Tuesday at The Alchemist, drawing in celebrities, content creators, and boxing enthusiasts for an electrifying experience.
At a recent event, the adrenaline-fueled atmosphere was so intense that some of the attending celebrities couldn’t resist stepping into the ring themselves. Though they lacked proper boxing attire, that didn’t stop them from putting on gloves and throwing punches.
YY Takes Over the Ring
The first showdown featured comedian YY against Wololo TV. YY, clad in a bulky zipper hoodie and cargo pants, went head-to-head with Wololo, who wore a simple t-shirt and sweatpants. The fight quickly turned one-sided, as YY relentlessly cornered Wololo with a barrage of punches, forcing him to concede defeat and pass the gloves to the next challenger.
Austin Muigai’s Quick Defeat
Austin Muigai stepped into the ring with confidence, his energy making many believe he would dominate. However, the match was over before it even began—YY landed a swift uppercut that sent Austin stumbling, so dazed that his friends had to catch him. Laughing, YY remarked that it was only his first punch.
A Worthy Challenger?
Next up was a non-celebrity participant whose build suggested he could be a formidable opponent. He threw clean punches, but they were no match for YY’s aggressive style. The comedian once again overpowered his challenger with his signature relentless punches.

Sammyro’s Surprise Attack
The final bout featured Sammyro, who entered the ring wearing a safari hat. From the moment the bell rang, he was all over YY, delivering a punch that landed squarely on the comedian’s face. Amused by his success, Sammyro burst into laughter—a move that only fueled YY’s determination.
As the match continued, both fighters exchanged dodges and punches. Eventually, as Sammyro tired, YY seized his moment, landing a perfectly timed punch that not only secured his victory but also knocked off his opponent’s hat.
YY’s Fitness Pays Off
While some attributed YY’s dominance to his height advantage, others credited his intense training. The comedian has been dedicated to fitness, regularly updating his fans on his weight loss and gym progress—proof that hard work in the gym translates to success in the ring.
