‘Nafanya Music Lakini Deep Down I Feel Like It’s Not The Right Thing’ Shamra Shamra’s Joefes Confesses

Gengetone music has been a big deal in the Kenyan music industry for quite a long time now. Unlike most music genres which are performed by solo artists, this kind is mostly done by groups. Most of them have become popular and made big names for themselves, including Sailors Gang, Boondocks Gang, Ethic, Mbuzi Gang, Rico Gang, Wakadinali, Ochungulo Family(dissolved), among others.

Mbuzi Gang consists of Joefes, iPhoolish and Fathermoh. The group is known for their hit song ‘Shamra Shamra’ which they released on December 31st 2020. The song features Mejja and has been watched over 3 million times on YouTube. They also have a couple of more hit songs.

Even though they’re making it in the industry, one of the members, Joefes, thinks that this is not the right path for him. At one time, he said he thought of quitting music. This was partly because one of his Mbuzi Gang members, IPhoolish pissed him off. In a recent interview, he disclosed,

”Alafu plus ujue nakauanga religious. Nafanya music lakini deep down I feel like it’s not the right thing.”

In the same interview, the Shamra Shamra hit maker also disclosed their plan to do a remix on the hit song. The song is set to be released this month.
