Nadia Mukami explains her transition from secular to gospel, following her ¨Maombi¨ hit

Kenyan music sensation, Nadia Mukami is sure a voice that can compare to none other. Recently, she decided to unveil another side of her after releasing a gospel tune.

Now questions many are asking is: Has Nadia moved to the Gospel world of music? A question she has answered promptly.

¨Maombi¨ comes in as her 8th studio song. One that is best described as a thanksgiving song to God for his presence in her life.

Word has reached her fast enough and she refutes claims that she has ditched secular for gospel.

As reported by Nairobi News, the beauty clarified:

It´s totally a no. I knew that people would take it like that because I have been asked that question a million times but no. As secular artistes, sometimes we even pray a lot.

Drawing the line between secular music and belief in God, she stated:

We do secular music because it´s business, it´s passion. Music is very universal, you´re singing about love even in the Bible there´s love so I feel like people confuse it. So for me, ¨Maombi¨ is just a thanksgiving song to God for what he´s done in my life and to inspire someone else to give thanks.

A song she attributes to the events in her personal life, something she considered worth the thanksgiving and praise to God.

This is very personal to me. I did this song at a time I was really broke, for many months. That same day that I wrote this song, I got called to be on Coke Studio. So it´s a song that is very personal to me just thanking God for what I have been through and not focusing on the negative.
