Mystery Surrounds Disappearance of EABL Brand Manager
A 28-year-old woman, Ms. Lilian Nyambura Mbugua, a brand manager at East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL), has been reported missing. She vanished from her family home in Gikono, Murang’a County, on December 23, 2024.
Ms. Nyambura had traveled from Nairobi to her family’s residence on December 21 to celebrate Christmas. On December 23, at around 5 p.m., she left the home on foot, wearing a red dress, a sky blue sweater, a black and white headscarf, and slippers. She left behind her car, two laptops, mobile phones, and other personal belongings. Initially, her family assumed she had gone for a routine walk, but she never returned.
Her disappearance was reported to the Gikono Police Patrol Base on December 24 and later to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenol on December 28. Murang’a South DCI officer John Kanda noted that the investigation has been hindered by the lack of trackable devices since Ms. Nyambura did not carry her mobile phones when she left. Authorities have disseminated information about her disappearance nationwide and are urging anyone with relevant details to come forward.
Described by her family as quiet, intelligent, and deeply religious, Ms. Nyambura had been working as a brand manager for EABL’s Chrome brand for four months before her disappearance. Her LinkedIn profile highlights her dedication to Africa’s growth, with accomplishments in brand management and marketing.
As investigations proceed, her family remains hopeful for her safe return and appeals to the public for assistance in locating Ms. Nyambura.
