Mr Seed Reflects on Challenging 2024

In an emotional Instagram story on December 28, musician Mr. Seed expressed his anticipation for the year’s end.

“I’m just waiting for midnight on the 31st at Kitale Showgrounds to make some noise for everything 2024 brought, so I can step into 2025 with fresh energy 😂🙌🙌 because this year has been tough,” he wrote.

Reflecting on the year, he added:
“2024 has been a year I’ll never forget… it’s shown me hardship like never before. This year, I’ve cried the most, battled depression, and struggled a lot. It’s also the year I lost the love of my life—my mum. This year has tested me as one of God’s strongest soldiers. I know I’m not alone; there are others out there who’ve also had a rough year. But don’t worry, we’ve made it to the end of 2024.”

Mr. Seed’s mother passed away in August after battling illness for over a year. During her hospitalization, the singer had asked fans to pray for her recovery, describing her condition as heartbreaking.

“I’ve been in and out of hospitals for one and a half years, trying to find treatment for my mum,” he previously shared. “It’s been so painful watching her suffer daily, but God is faithful. We’re holding onto hope and praying for her healing.”

2024 also brought other challenges for the artist, including a near-fatal car accident. He shared the aftermath earlier this year, posting images of the car wreck and recounting his injuries. The traumatic experience served as a turning point, inspiring him to push harder in his music career.

“Exactly one year today, I’m a living testimony,” he wrote in April, reflecting on the accident. He revealed that the recovery period was critical and credited his wife, Nimo Gachuiri, for her unwavering support. To mark the life-changing event, Mr. Seed tattooed the date on his left hand.

Nimo recounted the harrowing experience, explaining that she had rushed to the accident scene and found Mr. Seed lying motionless. A video posted on her Instagram Stories at the time showed the singer being wheeled into the hospital.

Despite the hurdles, Mr. Seed remains hopeful about 2025, determined to channel his pain into growth and resilience. “I’ve learned so much this year. On the 31st, I’ll release all the pain in my heart and mind. I want to make a difference in 2025—I know I’m strong, and I’m ready for what’s next,” he concluded.
