‘More Rainfall Expected This Week’- Met Department

The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for heavier rainfall across several regions of the country from January 15th to 21st, 2024. Lake Victoria Basin, Western Kenya, Central and Southern Rift Valley, the Central Highlands (including Nairobi City County), Southeastern Lowlands, and the Coastal region are expected to receive significant precipitation during this period.

“Rainfall is likely to continue over several parts of the country including Lake Victoria Basin, Western Kenya, Central and Southern Rift Valley, Central Highlands including Nairobi City County, Southeastern Lowlands and the Coastal region,” The Met Department predicted.

Residents in these areas are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and advisories. The Met Department predicts occasional rainfall in parts of the Northwest and Northeast as well. Isolated storms and heavy downpours are also possible, particularly in the South Rift Valley, Southeast lowlands, Central Highlands, and South Coast.
