In an interview with Nairobi News, the outspoken politician revealed that the new Range Rover cost her KSh 50 million. “I traded in my previous Range and added more to get this latest car,” she said.

Omanga’s post ignited a flurry of responses from X users. While some admired her success and hard work, others had contrasting views.

Here are some reactions:

  • Mc Ntonja: “Zero mileage… I tap that favor and blessings.”
  • Mwalimu Katebes Kibet: “Weh Milli jameni unatutesa left na right. Hongera.”
  • Sydney MorningStar: “‘Mama Miradi’ is the slogan if you want to be loved by the mwananchi but in reality, you do absolutely zero work.”
  • Deno Djo: “Motor vehicle tax utalipa ngapi kwa hii… proposal is to remove the cap to ensure equity in payment… 5% of insurance value.”

Omanga addressed the criticism, clarifying that she is not responsible for the hardships individuals face in the country. “It has been two years since I received any salary from the government. Anyone assuming that I funded this purchase with government money should know that I have my own businesses. Do they even understand how much I contribute in taxes?” she stated.

She added, “I pay significant amounts in taxes, and buying a new car is for my personal enjoyment. I continually upgrade my vehicles. If a new model comes out, I’ll get another. This car was my dream, so I had to get it.”

Omanga was appointed as a Chief Administrative Secretary before the court ruled the position unconstitutional.

According to edmunds.com, the price of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover ranges from KSh 14.3 million to KSh 48.8 million, depending on the trim and options.
