Mike Sonko’s heartfelt tribute to his late dad leaves many in tears

As the world marked Father’s Day,  Sunday June 21, Mike Sonko was not left behind! The controversial politician went on to appreciate his late dad in a moving message shared on his social media; leaving many in tears.

Although his father has been resting for a few years now; the governor could not hold back from remembering where they both came from. In his message, Mike Mbuvi appreciates his father for standing with him through both tough and happy times.

  I dedicate this special day to my late Father Gedion Kioko Mbuvi Kivanguli, whenever I was stranded, he was there for me to help me out.

It is no secret that Sonko had a humble beginning before the money and fame. For those who can remember, Sonko back in the day was a hustler in Mombasa; and being an ambitious man with a vision, the guy worked his way to the top.

In his message, he went on to also appreciate himself as a father figure to many; not forgetting to appreciate Nairobi Father’s for the sacrifices they have been making for their families. He went on to add;

I take this opportunity to thank God for making me a father figure to many… To the rest of the Fathers in Nairobi, May the Almighty God bless you and the work of your hands for also being fathers to many people

Grandfather of 2

So far Sonko is not just a father but a grand daddy of 2 thanks to her eldest daughter, Saumu Mbuvi.

Just like his daughters, Mike Sonko is said to be in love with his grand children; and since he worked extra hard to ensure they have a good life – the girls will definitely have it easier!
