Meet the TikToker who has welcomed Brian Chira Junior

Kenyan TikTok influencer Manzi Wa Mombasa has recently shared intimate details about her third child, whom she refers to as a ‘replacement’ for the late Brian Chira.

This emotional disclosure has sparked discussions about her personal journey and the circumstances surrounding her son’s birth.

A Child Born from Grief
During an interview with Martin Dean, Manzi Wa Mombasa opened up about the deep pain she felt following Brian Chira’s death. The two were close friends, and their relationship had led to speculation that they might have been romantically involved, which Manzi clarified was not the case.

She revealed that her decision to get pregnant shortly after Chira’s death was a way of coping with the loss.

“I got this child because I wanted to replace Brian Chira. Losing him still hurts, but when I look at this baby boy, I feel like I’ve replaced him,” she shared.

The emotional strain of losing Chira, who had introduced her to his grandmother as his partner, led her to maintain the image that they were romantically involved.

The Mystery of Her Son’s Father
One of the most surprising aspects of the conversation was Manzi Wa Mombasa’s admission that she conceived her child through a sperm donor, not Brian Chira as some fans had speculated.

She explained that she opted for IVF shortly after Chira’s passing, and although many believed the child was his, the truth was that a sperm donor was involved.

“I don’t have a father for my child; it was just a sperm donor. We don’t even know who he is because we didn’t want anything to do with him,” she revealed.

Manzi further explained that the IVF process, which cost her Sh300,000, was a significant financial commitment, and she even sold land to afford it. Despite the donor’s anonymity, she expressed gratitude for her son, whom she affectionately calls ‘Chira Kadogo’ as a tribute to her late friend.

Raising Her Son with Unconditional Love
Manzi Wa Mombasa’s perspective on parenting is based on love and acceptance, regardless of her son’s future decisions.

“Chira was gay, and that was the truth, but we don’t judge people because of that,” she said. “This child is his own person. If he wants to be gay, I’m good with that. If he wants to be straight, I’m also good. As long as I raise him well and teach him Christianity, I’ll support him in whatever he chooses.”

Manzi also dispelled rumors about her romantic relationship with her friend Jude, clarifying that her child was not his. She joked, “For those who think the child is Jude’s, let’s wait for a face reveal and see if they resemble each other.”

Hopeful for the Future
While Manzi continues to grieve Brian Chira’s loss, her third son brings her new joy. Her unconventional journey as a mother is a testament to her resilience and determination to give her children a bright future despite personal challenges.
