Mark Masai Makes Acting Debut in New Series

Media personality Mark Masai has officially made his acting debut in a new Showmax series titled “Faithless.”

Masai, who is best known for his work as a news anchor at Nation Media Group, plays the role of Detective Henry in the series.

In an interview with Kalondu Musimi, Masai said that he has always had a passion for acting and that he started pursuing it while he was still working as a journalist.

“I trained as a journalist and was working in a newsroom but I always had this passion for acting and my good friends there connected me,” Masai said.

He said that he was approached by the producers of “Faithless” and asked if he would be interested in playing the role of Detective Henry. He accepted the role and said that he is enjoying the experience so far.

“They called I answered and I went for casting and landed that role,” Masai said.

Masai said that he believes his role as a detective and his previous work as a journalist are similar in that they both involve looking for answers.

“As a detective, I am looking for answers something that is relatable to my journalism career that involves looking for answers,” Masai said.

“Faithless” is a crime drama series that follows the story of a group of friends who are involved in a murder. The series is set to premiere on Showmax on July 14, 2023.

Masai is not the only Kenyan media personality who has made the transition to acting. In recent years, several other Kenyan journalists, including Larry Madowo and Rashid Abdalla, have also starred in TV shows and movies.

The growing popularity of Kenyan actors and actresses is a sign of the growing maturity of the Kenyan entertainment industry. As the industry continues to grow, it is likely that we will see even more Kenyan media personalities making the transition to acting in the years to come.
