“Let me be open today, I am suffering from a disease which causes my eggs to rapture” Wema Sepetu explains why she can’t get pregnant
Wema Sepetu has been trying to get her own child for many years. The former beauty queen has had several miscarriages whenever she gets pregnant.
In 2016 Wema was pregnant and she was expecting twins who were fathered by Idris Sultan by unfortunately she had another miscarriage and lost her unborn twins.
At one point the former beauty queen stated that she would get rid of her uterus at the age of 32 if she wouldn’t have managed to get a child by then.
Wema traveled to India sometimes in May 2018 to undergo a life saving surgery. She opened up about her condition in an interview with Risasi Mchanganyiko.
“Let me be open today so that people can know this, I am suffering from a disease which causes my eggs (ovaries) to rapture and thus cannot be fertilized,” said Wema.
Wema also revealed that doctors in India told her that her condition could easily have turned into cancer if she hadn’t been operated in time.
“Am so grateful, my situation was critical because when doctors in India carried out tests on me they said if I had delayed to treat this disease it would have turned into cancer and would be hard to treat,” said Wema.
Polycystic Ovarian Disease
Tanzanian doctor Godfrey Chale confirmed that Wema Sepetu is suffering from Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD). PCOD is a hormonal disorder which makes ovaries to enlarge causing multiple small cysts that prevent the ovaries from fertilizing.
Wema was diagnosed with the condition by specialists in India, she had to go under the knife to remove the cysts that would have resulted in uterine cancer if she hadn’t been treated in time.
