Larry Madowo exits BBC for CNN
Blessing on blessings for Larry Madowo who is set to join CNN; as the network’s Nairobi correspondent.
This major move comes barely a year after Larry Madowo marked his return to the BBC; in a new role (North America Correspondent) in the summer of 2020 after Coronavirus hit Houston, Texas.
Thanks to his experience over the years and of-course his coverage of the 2020 US election and inauguration of Joe Biden; Larry was able to be been recognised around the world.
Larry Madowo joins CNN
Announcing Larry’s new role – Deborah Rayner, who is the Senior Vice President of International News-gathering; and Managing Editor, Europe, Middle East and Africa, for CNN International praised the young man as seen on a press release – where she said;
From enterprise reporting in Ethiopia’s Tigray region; to investigations into oil drilling in Namibia’s Kavango Basin, via a range of cultural; and business stories across dedicated programming, Africa has never been more visible on CNN’s multiple platforms.

Larry is an experienced journalist whose expertise across politics, business; entertainment and hard news stories will play into our diverse coverage of East Africa and beyond.
