KRG The Don: Protests Are Now for Thieves and Lazy People

KRG The Don has urged Kenyans to return to work instead of participating in demonstrations.

According to him, hired goons have started infiltrating the protests, thereby undermining their original purpose.

“I guess it’s time we go back to work now because these protests have become a haven for thieves and lazy people who have nothing to lose,” he said.

His comments came shortly after several young people were caught stealing during the Finance Bill 2024 demonstrations.

In videos circulating on social media, a young man was allegedly caught stealing a printer. In Mombasa, police had to rescue a young man being beaten by a mob for allegedly stealing during the protests.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has also released the images of 38 individuals suspected of engaging in criminal activities during the anti-Finance Bill protests.

On Tuesday, the DCI announced that detectives had been dispatched to apprehend individuals captured on camera taking advantage of the demonstrations to mug pedestrians.

“Anyone involved in criminal activities is reminded that it is just a matter of time before the long arm of the law catches up with them, and that their felonious acts shall be met with the full force of the law,” the DCI stated.

Pauline Njoroge echoed similar sentiments, advising the Gen Z protestors to reconsider their strategy.

“Dear Gen Z! I strongly believe you should now release a poster canceling the Tuesday and Thursday protests until further notice. Regime-sponsored goons have taken over with an aim to destroy the image of the patriotic movement that you began, which saw the successful rejection of the Finance Bill 2024. Calling off the street protests does not mean going silent. Maintain a strong voice on the very powerful social media space, relentlessly demanding better governance, accountability, and citizen-friendly policies and legislation. But the streets are a no-go zone for now! Aluta Continua!” she posted.
