A source close to Koffi told Nation that the Kenyan Immigration Department repulsed all efforts to lift off the visa ban imposed on the Lingala maestro in 2016.

Koffi was declared persona non-grata in 2016 and deported from Kenya after he assaulted of of his female dancers at Jomo Kenyatta Airport.

“His promoters tried everything but the Kenyan people are not ready to offer him a visa. Maybe in another year’s time things it will be possible,” the source said.

Koffi was reportedly being paid Kes 23 million to perform in Kakamega. The singer has now missed the opportunity to pocket his millions due to the travel ban.
