Khalwale Demands Ksh200 million In Damages After Being Connected To His Caretaker’s Death.

Businessman Cleophas Shimanyula Toto has been handed by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale a 48-hour ultimatum to pay him Ksh200 million or face legal action for Ksh500,000.
Khalwale has filed a defamation lawsuit against the billionaire, claiming that he caused his late employee Kizito Amukune Moi’s death when his fighting bull killed him.

The outspoken lawmaker bemoaned Shimanyula Toto’s deceptive remarks on social media, which called into question the police’s investigation into the bull caretaker’s death.
On Wednesday, January 7, 2024, the senator from Kakamega began legal proceedings against the billionaire.
In court filings, Khalwale’s attorney Danston Omari asked Shimanyulu to rescind the aforementioned defamatory remarks in writing within the following 48 hours.

Khalwale demanded that the businessman pay him Ksh200 million and apologize, failing which he would sue him for Ksh500 million.

“Today at the High Court of Kenya, we have given Cleophas Shimanyula Toto 48 hours, within which he should tender an apology for defamatory allegations against me & pay a compensation of Ksh 200 million. Failing which he will face a suit of Ksh. 500 million in the High Court,” Khalwale wrote on his X account.

Johansen Oduor, chief government pathologist, vehemently denied rumors that his farmhand’s death was the result of Boni Khalwale’s involvement.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, February 3, 2024, Oduor disclosed the autopsy findings, stating that the senator’s renowned fighting bull, “Inasio,” did, in fact, gore Kizito Moi Amukune to death.
