Khalif Kairo shares three reasons why Kenyans should not join tomorrow’s demonstrations

Kenyan entrepreneur Khalif Kairo has outlined reasons why people should refrain from taking to the streets tomorrow.

He believes that the primary objective of the demonstrations, which was to address the Finance Bill, has already been handled. The Cabinet Secretaries have been fired or dismissed from office, and he urges the public to consider a different approach and see how it unfolds.

“Right now, going to the streets is just putting the country at risk of anarchy and the economy under a lot of strain. Don’t go to the streets; it is not worth it. If you love your country, give other solutions a chance,” Khalif Kairo said.

Secondly, Kairo reminds people to be considerate and think of those who are unprotected by the police, as well as those whose businesses might be broken into, and those who might lose their lives in the name of ‘peaceful protests.’

While Khalif Kairo sides with Kenyans on the issues, he believes it is also fair to be considerate of others. He urges the Kenyan government to hold back and see if there will be changes, as the public has already made their point by marching on the streets to show their displeasure, especially with the imposition of high taxes, which have now been scrapped.

Lastly, Kairo dismisses the agenda that people are advocating for, which is ‘Ruto must go.’ He argues that even if President Ruto were to resign, there would still be no significant change because the country is in a serious crisis. He suggests that the only way to effect change is by recalling MPs and awaiting the next election to elect good leaders.

There is speculation that tomorrow people will return to the streets to demonstrate as usual, with the agenda being #RutoMustGo.
