Kenyan Music Does Not Pay Enough To Build Palatial Homes- Says Khaligraph Jones’ Brother

Khaligraph Jones’ brother, KOB Lamaz, has claimed that Kenyan music does not pay musicians enough to sustain a wealthy lifestyle. He made the remarks in an interview with bloggers, where he shut down any ideas that artistes in the country were using money from their art to build their palatial homes.

“Music does not pay in this country. What are they using to build? Where? Who? Are you sure it’s money from their music? You have been lied to, there is no money,” he said.

When asked how his brother is building his palatial home, the businessman declined to answer the question, saying his brother has his own way of doing his things.

Lamaz also added that he is still making KSh 100,000 a day and claimed he is the king of beats. He dared any contender to bring his cars out. While talking about his profits, Lamaz flaunted notes he was carrying in his pocket while counting them in front of the camera.

Lamaz’s claims echo the sentiments of many Kenyan musicians, who have complained that the industry is not paying them enough. This is due to a number of factors, including piracy, low royalties, and lack of government support.

Despite the challenges, Kenya has a thriving music scene, with many talented musicians producing hit songs. However, it is clear that more needs to be done to ensure that Kenyan musicians are able to make a decent living from their craft.
