Kenya Power to conduct planned power outages in 8 counties on Tuesday
Kenya Power has announced that it will be conducting planned power outages in eight counties on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The outages will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The affected counties are Nairobi, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia, Migori, Meru, Embu, Kiambu, and Mombasa.
The following are the specific areas that will be affected:
- In Nairobi, the affected areas include Kangemi, parts of Waiyaki Way, Sodom, Kinda school, and Nairobi water.
- In Nakuru, the affected areas include the whole of the White House and Kiti Date, the whole of Blankets, and Kiratina.
- In Trans Nzoia, the affected areas include Maili Saba, Sibanga, Makunga, and Kipsaina.
- In Migori county, the affected areas include Nyamarambe, Riosiri, Emesa village, and parts of Tabaka.
- In Meru county, the affected areas include Maua town, Athi Kiegoi, Nyambene Hospital, Luluma, and Methodist Hospital.
- In Embu, the affected areas include Masinga, Sogea, Kamukunzi, Mukusu, Masinga boy and girls secondary schools, and Msingini.
- In Kiambu, the affected areas include Tola, Bob Harris, Whole of Tula, Kiahuria, Ndarungo, and Metro.
- In Mombasa, the affected areas include Nyali, Bamburi, Masjid Noor, Murji Farm, Mwembelegeza, and Kisumu Ndogo.
Kenya Power says that the outages are necessary for network maintenance. The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
Customers are advised to take precautionary measures such as switching off sensitive appliances before the outages begin. They are also advised to stay safe and avoid touching any electrical wires or equipment.
