Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate Actress, and her husband Philip Karanja, also known as Phil Director, have confirmed their separation in a joint statement released on their Instagram stories on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

The couple said that they came to the decision to end their marriage a while ago but decided to keep it private. They requested everyone to respect their privacy and the privacy of their children.

Phil also confirmed the separation on his Instagram page, asking people to allow them to move on with their lives separately. He said that he and Kate remain friends, co-parents, and business partners.
