Senator Karen Nyamu recently weighed in on the ongoing controversy involving Pritty Vishy and Bishop Ben Kiengei. Since gaining public attention in 2017, Nyamu has been accustomed to receiving various types of comments on social media.

She acknowledged that while some comments can be harsh, she views them as opportunities for self-improvement. For instance, after commenting on the Finance Bill 2024 without fully understanding it, Nyamu made an effort to thoroughly study its provisions, demonstrating her dedication to being well-informed.

“Hahaha, you know why I’m laughing? I get told a lot of things on social media since I came into the limelight in 2017. All kinds of things. Mostly, I take note when it’s factual and work on myself. Like when I commented on the finance bill 2024 before properly understanding it. I took the time to study it carefully; I almost became a consultant,” Karen Nyamu wrote.

Nyamu also addressed calls for her to support the girl child in the Vishy-Kiengei conflict. She revealed that she recently watched a video where Vishy mentioned her, which surprised her because she had always liked Vishy. However, Vishy’s negative remarks about her made Nyamu realize the feeling wasn’t mutual.

“Hehe, so some time back, I saw notifications on Instagram that Pritty Vishy had mentioned me. I was curious because I actually like her. Wow, she really insulted me in a video posted by a blogger. I felt a bit disappointed that the love wasn’t mutual,” she said.

Regarding Bishop Kiengei’s apology, Nyamu noted that he had publicly expressed remorse for his comments. Kiengei admitted, “I am really sorry, and I take this moment to highly apologize for mentioning you in the wrong way. I went overboard and addressed you inappropriately.”

While Nyamu acknowledged Kiengei’s apology, she humorously mentioned that she wasn’t expecting an apology from Vishy. She emphasized that despite the drama, she is focused on moving forward and is not too concerned about the conflict.

Adding to the conversation, influencer and TV host Nana Owiti also shared her thoughts. Owiti expressed her dismay at Kiengei’s remarks, questioning how a clergyman could be so harsh towards someone who has openly discussed her struggles with self-esteem.

She was particularly disappointed with the interviewer, who laughed along while Kiengei made disparaging remarks. Owiti emphasized the importance of accountability and reassured Vishy, saying, “You are beautiful, and the world is better because you are in it. Sending you lots of hugs.”
