Jose Chameleone to Victoria Kimani and Diamond: I’ll be straight, you’ve done collabos with Nigerians but we don’t see you on their shows
Jose Chameleone has taken shots at Diamond Platnumz and Victoria Kimani whom he blames for advancing Nigerian music influence in East Africa.
Speaking during an interview with Mseto East Africa, Chameleone says musicians from East Africa don’t get shows in Nigeria despite collaborating with a number of Naija artistes.
“I’ll be straight with you, Victoria Kimani unaimba na Wa-Nigeria hatujawahi kukuona kwenye show za wa-Nigeria.When they are making their shows they don’t invite you. Same with my brother Naseeb (Diamond). You’ve done a lot of collaborations but we don’t see you on the Nigerian shows so what is the deal? Fine, we are bringing Nigerians to East Africa but where are they taking us. You’ve made enough money, people have recognized you, we’ve loved you but where have you left us?” Jose Chameleone ranted.
Help upcoming artistes
Jose also called on established musician to help upcoming artistes to break through. He mentioned music heavyweights in East Africa who should help upcoming musicians.
“You people that have made it, Nameless, Redsan, Weasel, Pallaso, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Kaka Rabbit, Harmonize, Jua Cali, Diamond, Harmonize…. Harmonize nakumbuka kuna video moja they chased you away, you wouldn’t sing but then you made it, after you made it who are you trying to help to make it?” said Jose.
