Joe Muchiri Shares Update on Jowie Irungu’s Prison Condition
Influencer Joe Muchiri recently gave fans an update on his friend Jowie Irungu’s condition in prison.
Through his social media, Joe hinted at a recent visit, sharing, “Kijana ako sawa, ana pambana tu na amewasalimia,” which roughly translates to, “The young man is doing okay, still pushing on, and he sends his regards.”

Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu was sentenced to death on March 13, 2024, for the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani. In February, Justice Nzioka ruled that the prosecution had proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Jowie was responsible for Monica’s murder. Although the sentencing was initially scheduled for March 8, it was postponed to March 13.
Monica Kimani was brutally murdered on the night of September 19, 2018, at her Lamuria Gardens apartment in Nairobi. Justice Grace Nzioka stated, “Having considered the evidence in this matter, it is the finding of this court that the prosecution has adduced adequate evidence and met the threshold… The court finds that the first accused person murdered the deceased.”
Former TV news anchor Jacque Maribe, who was charged alongside Jowie, was acquitted of the murder charge, with Justice Nzioka noting that the prosecution had failed to place Maribe at the crime scene, making murder an inappropriate charge for her.
