Janet Otieno praises God in new single ‘Niajaze’ (Video)
If you are the kind of person who often says that Kenyan gospel artists do not praise God in their songs, then perhaps you are listening to the wrong ones because some are serious about winning souls to Christ.

Take for instance, Janet Otieno, who I must admit is one of my favourite gospel musicians in the continent. Each and every song that she has released to this day is about spreading God’s word and teaching people about him.
If you are in doubt, then you should listen to her latest track titled Nijaze, which is a Swahili word that simply means fill me. I have listened to it a couple of times since it was released and I still love it.
Basically, this sing is about asking God to fill us with his spirit which will result in greater love for him and receiving new spiritual gifts that will enable you to impact the lives of others positively.
Like I mentioned earlier, I absolutely love this song. Other than the powerful message that it carries, I know you will agree with me that it’s well arranged.
Janet Otieno’s glorious voice helps the message sink in and you’ll find yourself singing along as the song plays in the background.
The background vocalists on Nijaze really spiced it up because their rhythm blends really well with that of the Pokea hitmaker.
The other thing that I loved is of course, the beat and instrumentation. They are so subtle and allow you to enjoy the glorious voices of Janet Otieno and that of her background vocalists.
Watch Nijaze below and tell us what you think.
