Jalang’o addresses faces challengers for political seats
In response to probable rivals coveting his seat in the general elections of 2027, Lang’ata MP Jalang’o spoke out.
This comes after a number of prospective candidates decided to publicly proclaim their interest in the position.
Jalang’o, a first-term MP, discussed the potential of confronting opposition in the elections in a recent online interview. He made sure to emphasize that political seats are open to everyone and that the electorate makes the final decision.
“Political seats are open to anyone, and anyone can compete, but it is the people of Lang’ata who will decide who their MP will be,”
Jalang’o and four other parliamentarians recently faced expulsion from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party over claims of flagrant misconduct.
Despite this, he reiterated his dedication to the gathering and stated that he has no plans to leave.
“I am part of ODM, and even now, you saw that the court pronounced itself yesterday, and that thing has been thrown out, and that’s why we can’t talk about it. I am a member of ODM, and I am not leaving the party anytime soon,”
Notably, controversial content producer Andrew Kibe mocked Jalang’o following his expulsion from ODM, joking that he would oppose him in the upcoming elections since Jalang’o no longer had the support of the party that had initially sponsored him to Parliament.
Kibe joked that he will face Jalang’o on the ballot in the general election of 2027 while sharing a campaign flyer from the general elections of 2013.
“Photoshop kiasi and this poster is good to go. @JalangoMwenyewe tukutane kwa debe,”
