In pictures: How Yvonne Wamalwa’s body was transported on a hearse from Nanyuki to Lee Funeral Home

The body of the late Yvonne Wamalwa was transferred to Nairobi from Nanyuki in an ordinary hearse. Earlier plans to airlift the body to the city were aborted due to logistics.

Yvonne Wamalwa died on Thursday morning at Nanyuki Cottage hospital. The deceased was rushed to the hospital after developing complications.

Upon her death Yvonne Wamalwa  was staying with her sister Stephanie Muite. She was being treated for an undisclosed ailment at the Outspan Hospital in Nyeri since October 2017.

Police assistance

Stephanie Muite sought police assistance to transport the body of her sister to Nairobi. Police escorted the hearse ferrying the remains of Yvonne Wamalwa from Nanyuki to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
