“If you want a supportive wife, marry a Kamba woman” says Jimi Wanjigi
Kenyan businessman and political strategist Jimi Wanjigi recently encouraged Kenyan men to consider marrying Kamba women, citing his own experience with his wife, Irene Nzisa, who hails from Tala. Speaking at a public event, Wanjigi praised Irene for her unwavering support during a difficult time when the police were searching for him.

“You never truly understand a woman’s strength until you see her in action, like a tea bag revealing its strength in hot water,” Wanjigi remarked, recalling how his wife stood firm and fearless during the ordeal. He emphasized that she played a crucial role in protecting their family, stating, “The police were hunting me down as if I were a terrorist. Do I look like one? That’s when I saw her true strength—she never wavered, never showed fear, and never shed a tear. If you want to know who understands every corner of the house, ask the wife. She saved me.”
Wanjigi went on to commend the people of Ukambani for raising such a strong woman and urged others to seek partners from the region. “If you want a wife who will stand by you, come to Ukambani,” he advised.
He also explained that the police raid on his Nairobi home was linked to his involvement in the Nane Nane protests. From his home in Muthaiga, he recounted how his brief presence on the streets was met with a heavy police response. “We were there for barely five minutes before being teargassed. We were chased from town, and this home has been under siege since then,” he said.

Wanjigi accused the police of misconduct during their search and suggested they issue formal summons if they need to question him. “Stop searching my house; you will never find me. Seven years ago, they searched this house and couldn’t find me. Even now, if you search here, you won’t find me. Please don’t waste your time. If you want me, just send a summons, and I will appear where you want. We are not fools; we were not born yesterday,” he concluded.
