Iam Marwa shares his experience of losing vision in his left eye

Kenyan YouTuber Frederick Marwa, also known as I Am Marwa, has revealed the reason behind his constant wearing of sunglasses. Currently in Malawi, he disclosed that he lost vision in his left eye, necessitating the need for sunglasses all the time.

The travel vlogger shared that he lost his left eye when he was just 11 years old due to a lack of funds for medical treatment. He explained, “We didn’t have money to take me to hospital. This eye is totally blind, so that’s why I always wear sunglasses.”

Marwa also mentioned facing criticism, being called “mshamba” for wearing sunglasses even at night. However, he received supportive messages from his fans, with one sharing her own experience of being legally blind and admiring Marwa’s bravery.

Another fan expressed happiness that Marwa was seeking assistance from an optician, while others sent their love and blessings to him and his family. Some fans reflected on the transformative effect of Marwa’s glasses on his appearance, comparing it to Superman’s disguise.
