“I always felt intimidated and like I wasn’t good enough,” Betty Kyallo opens up (Video)

Betty Kyallo has opened up on everyday battles she fought during her prime days in the media industry, some that nearly took a toll on her.

The beauty exited her former employer, K24 TV in a drastic move in May to focus and expand on her salon business, less than 2 years after her grand welcome into the station.

However, her first home was KTN where she started as an intern during her college days before growing into a brand in the competitive media industry.

Unfortunately, despite her popularity and growth, Betty faced competition and intimidation from fellow colleagues.

The hustle

Opening up during an online Q&A session with fans, the media sensation admitted;

“I feel like this break that I took after resigning was very important because it has really made me hustle hard!”

According to her, walking out of a monthly pay cheque taught her self-reliance and being able to handle herself.

“Most of us love employment, to get cushioned under a salary but when it is removed, then it becomes really really difficult to keep it going, to survive,” she admits.

However, clarified that the TV screens are not her place for now, she needs change.

“We’re still thinking and weighing our options,” she left it that.

The intimidation

Until a curious fan asked about feeling intimidated in the media industry and Betty sure came clean stating;

“Most times I always felt that I was not good enough especially the first years on TV. I was a colleague to people who were doing so great, Cynthia Nyamai, Beatrice Marshall and I always felt intimidated.”

“Sometimes I would go on air and shrub, feel like I did not do my research enough. Many times I would go home and feel like I should have done better,” she adds.

“It used to be really hard and many times I would question whether I should be in this career, but somehow it happened,” she continues.

However, admitted that she is glad she went through that phase and is here because at times, you will need to fall and rise back up.

She goes ahead to talk about her skin care routine, love & dating, and starting a media school to train upcoming journalists.
