Hype Ballo Seeks Fundraiser To Pay For Legal Charges
Hype Ballo, real name Allan Ochieng’, is facing murder charges following the death of Detective Felix Kelian from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). A fundraiser has been started by his family and friends to help cover legal costs.
The tragedy unfolded a week after an altercation involving Ballo, DJ Joe Mfalme, and their driver. Initially, all were suspects. However, on April 8th, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) dropped charges against DJ Joe Mfalme and five others – Eric Kariuki Gathua, Simon Wambugu Wanjiru, Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruiyot Rotich, and Agnes Kerubo Mogoiare. These individuals will now serve as state witnesses in the case.
Ballo, however, remains the sole defendant. The ODPP stated, “Allan Ochieng is to take a plea at Kiambu Law Court and be charged with murder.”
Background of the Case
On March 25th, police reported to the court that Kelian was involved in a minor traffic accident along Kikuyu Road. His vehicle allegedly collided with one carrying Ballo, Mfalme, and others. The details of the altercation and the events leading to Kelian’s death remain under investigation.
