Husband to testify; woman accused of homicide after lover dies during adventure
Winfred Mueni, 28, is accused with manslaughter after her partner passed away following a romantic encounter. Two-year married Mueni Kimani was reportedly having an extramarital affair with Titus Njoroge Kimani. On September 22, Kimani passed away at Baba Dogo, an estate in Ruaraka.
On September 22, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Mueni hurried to contact Kimani’s family members after he passed out after their sexual encounter. Kimani was discovered in his bed, nude, and was declared dead when he arrived at the Nairobi County Government Hospital.
The prosecution plans to use her spouse as a witness against her, a postmortem report, and a used condom found at his home as evidence to prove her manslaughter accusation.
Senior Principal Magistrate Hellen Okwan heard her arraignment at the Makadara law courts, where she refuted the manslaughter allegations. According to the last seen theory, Mueni was accused of being the last person to be spotted with the sickness.
Kimani’s family members who witnessed Mueni entering his home have been named as witnesses in her case. On November 14, she was freed on a Ksh. 500,000 bond and an equivalent surety.
A hearing on her case is scheduled for May 30, 2024, and it will be discussed again on February 22.
