“He loved me chubby,” Betty Kyallo reminisces sweet memories with her ex (Video)
Majority of celebrities have had to battle weight issues from the public, whether it´s a gain or a loss.
Society has a certain way of determining whether someone is beautiful or not. For most cases and especially for women, that curvy, size 8 figure is what determines you´re level of beauty.
Today, things are worse because for the ´ideal´ kind of beautiful woman, one needs to have that wasp-like waist and a heavy bum otherwise you´re out.
Former K24 news anchor, Betty Kyallo has recently been battling her weight gain something she reveals was because she was so in love that weight never bothered her until fans started commenting.
Through her most recent episode on Betty Kyallo Lately, the 31-year old admitted that her ex-lover was the cause of her weight gain because they were ever eating.
I love myself chunky and my manz at that time, if you know who I mean, used to like me chunky too, with the tryes and all. But the world wants you to look a certain way. You know when I added some weight, I was dating this guy na tulikuwa tunakula kila siku, mahamri… Heh! huyo mjamaa, we would eat so much until I added weight.

Something she did not mind because she loved herself ´chunky´ and so did her man.
But when you are in love, unakula vibaya. Ulikuwa tu: baby I love you the way you are, chunky chunky. Anyway, it´s love.
Speaking of battling body shaming trolls, the former KTN journalist divulged that being on the screens meant she needed to look a certain way.

A time when she was yet to develop the thick skin and a time that every comment made about her would either positively or negatively affect her.
Especially being on TV, there´s pressure manze. Unaenda tu hapo maybe dress nikatight, tumbo ndio hiyo, ukikaa inaonekana. So imagine like, when I was on TV, everyone was like, Betty umechapa, umenona. Kwanza when I started on KTN, it used to really affect me because I would read every single comment and a lot of them used to do with weight issues. So I was like ´how do they want me to look?´
This she ultimately condemned because all this was as a result of heavy consumption of Western media that somehow demands that a beautiful lady looks a certain way. Which should not be the case.
It´s what Hollywood has shown us. But whatever size you are, just appreciate yourself but learn to work out.
