Hamisa Mobetto’s Ksh27 Million Dowry: A Celebration of Love and Tradition

Popular Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto’s recent wedding to Yanga SC footballer Stephanie Aziz Ki was a lavish affair, steeped in tradition and celebration.
The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful Nikah ceremony at Nnuur Mosque in Mbweni, Dar es Salaam, on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

The wedding festivities commenced on February 15th with the traditional bride price payment. Aziz Ki honored this custom by presenting 150 cows and 30 million Tanzanian shillings.

Hamisa’s mother, Shufaa Lutigunga, confirmed the substantial dowry, stating, “I am so in love with my son-in-law. I had prayed for my daughter Hamisa to find a husband who would have a good relationship with her as a family and indeed God has answered my prayers. As for the dowry, we agreed on 150 head of cattle, which he paid at Tsh 3.5 million per head,” totaling Tsh555 million (Ksh27 million).

The couple’s love story began in South Africa. “It was love at first sight. From the day I met her, I knew she was the one to be my wife,” Aziz Ki shared after the wedding.

Aziz Ki, who was born in Ivory Coast but represents Burkina Faso internationally, is one of the highest-paid footballers in the Tanzanian Premier League, reportedly earning around Ksh2.6 million per month, in addition to bonuses and other perks. His successful career, including two league titles with Yanga FC and a CAF Confederations Cup final appearance, has garnered significant attention.

While some online commentators suggested that Hamisa’s choice was influenced by Aziz Ki’s financial success, the couple’s focus remained on their love and commitment to each other.

Hamisa is a mother of two children, one with Bongo flava singer Diamond Platnumz and the other with Tanzanian media owner Majizo.
