Government Official Arrested After Being Busted Having Affairs With Over 400 Wives of High Ranking Officials

The Equatorial Guinean government has taken swift action to address a viral sex scandal involving a high-ranking official. Hundreds of explicit videos featuring Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the married director of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), have circulated on social media, showing him engaging in sexual acts with various partners, including the wives of prominent officials, within his ministry office.

In response, Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue announced the immediate suspension of any civil servant found to have engaged in sexual activity on government premises, citing violations of the code of conduct and public ethics laws. This isn’t the first time sex tapes involving public officials have leaked in Equatorial Guinea, but the current scandal has gained significant attention due to the high-profile individuals involved.

The leaked videos, which have been widely shared on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X, depict Engonga in compromising situations. Nicknamed “Bello” for his appearance, Engonga is the son of a prominent political figure and is related to the country’s long-serving president. The scandal has unfolded while he was already in custody for alleged embezzlement of public funds.

Equatorial Guinean authorities have taken steps to curb the spread of the videos, including imposing restrictions on internet traffic and launching an investigation into potential health risks associated with Engonga’s activities. The government has also expressed concern about the potential for further leaks involving other individuals.

This incident comes on the heels of a separate cyberattack targeting British politicians, where individuals were targeted with explicit messages and images. While the two incidents may seem unrelated, they both highlight the increasing use of technology to compromise individuals and undermine institutions.
