Gabriel Oguda Shares Harrowing Experience After Release from Abduction

Gabriel Oguda, a prominent user of X.com, has been released after allegedly being abducted earlier this week.

Oguda was found by members of the Law Society of Kenya in Kajiado and subsequently addressed Kenyans in a video message.

“Hello guys, this is Gabriel Oguda. I want to confirm that I’m now free. They released me unconditionally without charge and now I’m at a place where I’m safe. I just want to reassure you that there is no need to worry about my safety anymore,” Oguda said.

He expressed deep gratitude to those who supported him during his ordeal.

“First of all, I want to thank God and everyone who stood in solidarity with this cause,” Oguda continued. “At some point, I didn’t know what was going to happen. It’s been two days of a tough ordeal, and now I want to thank the Lord.”

Oguda also extended special thanks to his political leader and supporters.

“My biggest thank you goes to my leader, Hon. Opiyo Wandayi. Thank you so much for the intervention you did on my behalf and for everything you’ve done for me,” he said. “I also want to thank Hon. Edwin Sifuna for all the tireless effort in this exercise.”

He expressed his sincere appreciation to the LSK President.

“My sincere and utmost appreciation goes to the LSK President Faith Odhiambo. I will thank you in person another time when I’m back in my good spirits,” he added.

Oguda acknowledged the support and encouragement he received from Kenyans.

“I also want to appreciate my entire Twitter family. I’ve seen the trends and what you’ve done for me. I promise you, I will never let you down,” Oguda said. “To everyone else in the online community in Kenya and the Diaspora, this is to confirm I am safe. Thank you so much for everything. I will talk to you later.”

Other online personalities who have experienced abduction and release include activist Shad Khalif, tech expert John Frank Githiaka, Doctor Austin alias Japrado, artist Kaskazini, Edgar Wabwire, and Crazy Nairobian, among others.
