Following an unpleasant experience, Lillian Ng’ang’a gives classes on phone etiquette
Lillian Nganga recently voiced her frustration regarding individuals who remain engrossed in their phones while in the company of others or during social gatherings.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Lillian shared her thoughts on the disrespectful and rude behavior of using phones during social meetings. The mother of one stressed the importance of putting phones aside when spending time with others, be it during lunch, dinner, or any social event, as it demonstrates respect for the person.
“Putting the phone down when out with someone – at lunch, dinner, etc. – shows respect for the person.”
Lillian also shared a personal experience where she observed a woman continuously on her phone while her partner tried to engage in conversation. Despite the man’s efforts to communicate, the woman’s response was limited to occasional acknowledgments with “hmm.”
“I am seated next to two people, and the lady has not put her phone down (for over an hour now). The guy has been talking nonstop with an occasional ‘hmm’ from the lady! She’s even supported the phone on a glass so she can scroll better,” she wrote.
