In a video posted on Instagram, Flaqo opened up about the daily sacrifice he makes to keep his characters believable and entertaining for his audience.

While beards are a common sight on many men, Flaqo revealed the humorous downside of his clean-shaven look: unsolicited advice from younger, bearded fans. He jokingly shared an encounter with a 20-year-old who advised him to ditch women and focus solely on his career!

But the laughter stops when it comes to maintaining his characters. Flaqo emphasizes the importance of shaving every day, especially for characters like Mama Otis and Akoth who are known for their beardless appearances. Any change in their physical attributes, he explains, could disrupt the audience’s connection with these beloved characters.

“It’s part of the routine,” Flaqo says. “Mama Otis doesn’t have a beard, and Akoth doesn’t have a beard. If they did, the character would change. They wouldn’t look the same anymore. That’s a sacrifice I have to make every single day.”
