Ezekiel Mutua Promises To Help Kenyan Artists After Receiving Heavy Criticism (Screenshot)
After appointment of Ezekiel Mutua as MCSK (Music Copyright Society of Kenya) CEO, several artists gathered in frenzy of rage to reprimand the appointment. They were displeased over the same after he replaced Milcah Kulati in the position. One of the most conspicuous artists who were displeased by Ezekiel’s new job was comedian Eric Omondi. You’d remember vividly how strong their beef was late last year after Ezekiel terming artists like him as poor and lack talent.
In connection to this, Sauti Sol’s members Bien & Chimano also made their sentiments known over the appointment.
Ezekiel Responds
Upon seeing how hefty the hatred was kicking in, Ezekiel has decided to come up with a statement of hope for Kenyan artists. In his detailed Facebook post. he purported that he’s going to make Kenyan music profitable & defend rights of artists;
”To all Kenyan musicians,
My message is simple: I will work for you and with you to make music profitable and meaningful. I will fight for you, defend your rights and put conversations about music at the front table like I did with film. Together we shall raise the quality of Kenyan music and restore the lost glory of the industry. I am your champion…,” Part of his message read.
”To the MCSK Board of Directors, the wonderful colleagues that I have met so far, to all our stakeholders, to my friends and fans, thank you for the warm reception!”
