“I was drawn to him and thought, ‘Who is this?’ I couldn’t resist the love that overwhelmed me,” she confessed.
Despite her attempts to catch Agunda’s attention for 8 months, her efforts seemed futile until one day he surprised her with a date request.
“I felt so let down by him, thinking, ‘If there’s someone else, just let me know, what’s the holdup?’ But deep down, I was hurting. You know, sometimes a man can make you doubt your own beauty,” she shared candidly.
Struggling with feelings of inferiority, she resolved to move on. “We eventually started talking, and I thought, ‘Lord, you’ve brought me a real West African man, what kind of love is this?'” she chuckled at the memory, awaiting an opportunity.

“Some people come into your life to refine you, to elevate you. So that anyone who ever looked down on you, sees you differently. You must shine somehow. If you don’t shine, there’s a flaw somewhere.”
Agunda disclosed his intention of finding a wife, to which Evelyn exclaimed, “My God, even though I’ve longed for you, you’ve arrived in abundance.”
She asked him to wait for 4 years, a sacrifice he willingly accepted. “He agreed,” resigning from his job to become her music producer. Together, they opened a studio and later a production house.
Four years later, on April 7, 2012, they exchanged vows. The journey since then has been nothing short of wonderful.
