Eric Omondi Shifts Fundraising Campaign To Rwanda Due To Power Outage
Kenyan comedian and activist Eric Omondi has shifted his four-day fundraising campaign to Rwanda due to a nationwide power outage in Kenya.
Omondi had originally planned to kick off the campaign on Friday, August 25, with a non-stop online fundraising drive. However, the power outage has made it difficult to stream the event live.
“Just landed in Rwanda Kigali,” Omondi wrote on Instagram. “Last night I Googled which East African Country has the least Power black outages and results said Kigali. I am thinking of doing the 4 days of Fundraising from here. No sabotages. Just saving lives.”
Omondi’s determination to assist those in dire need of financial help is evident in his Instagram post. He expressed the overwhelming influx of messages from individuals facing urgent financial challenges.
“The gravity of these pleas for assistance has surpassed my individual capacity to intervene effectively,” Omondi said.
Among the distressing cases, Omondi has identified five particularly critical situations that will be the primary beneficiaries of the fundraising efforts. These cases include a cancer patient urgently requiring treatment in India, an individual in need of a kidney transplant, another requiring open-heart surgery, and the construction of a children’s home to provide shelter for 35 homeless children.
Omondi is currently in Rwanda and is expected to start the fundraising campaign soon. He has urged his fans and followers to donate generously to help those in need.
“Let’s come together and make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate,” Omondi said. “Together, we can make a change.”
The fundraising campaign is a testament to Omondi’s commitment to helping others. He is a true inspiration and a role model for many. His actions show that even one person can make a difference in the world.
If you would like to donate to Omondi’s fundraising campaign, you can do so through his website or social media pages. Every little bit helps.
