During a night vigil, friends honor Charles Ouda and share poignant recollections

On Wednesday, February 14, a night vigil was held to honor the life and legacy of the late actor Charles Ouda. The event, attended by friends and peers, featured livestreamed tributes from Kenyans sharing heartfelt memories and stories about the actor.

CS Ababu Namwamba also attended the service, where he paid tribute to the late actor. Patricia Kihoro and Mugambi Nthiga served as the MCs for the night, guiding the audience through a beautiful evening dedicated to remembering their dear friend.

During the event, hosts emphasized Charles Ouda’s extraordinary qualities, describing him as a supernova—a bright light, generous, and someone who brought joy into their lives. Emotional speeches, tributes, and performances marked the evening, with a video showcasing his life and the love he had for it.

The eulogy lovingly depicted Charles Joseph Ouda’s journey from birth to his passing. His early fame as the Omo brand ambassador, love for sports, and artistic talent were highlighted by his family. His siblings acknowledged his work, achievements, and the awards he received, while the crew and cast spoke about his busy schedule.

The eulogy also touched on Charles’s passion for relationships, recounting a heartwarming moment when he sat down with his mother to show her the ring he intended to use for his 2023 proposal to Ciru Muriku.

Musical performances by Eric Wainaina, Karimi Rimbui, and others paid tribute to the late Charlie by singing songs he loved to perform at gigs and auditions.

The late Charles Ouda’s body is scheduled to be cremated at the Kariokor cemetery.
