Dr. Ofweneke: “I Embrace My Past, Including My Failed Marriages, Despite the Trolls”
Comedian and MC Sande Bush, famously known as Dr. Ofweneke, has addressed critics of his failed marriages, maintaining that he is unbothered by social media trolls and unapologetic about his past.
“With my experience of two failed marriages—which I am not ashamed of—I find it amusing how people try to use that against me. But I always remind myself that these are my battles, just as everyone else has their own struggles that remain unseen. The fact that I am in the public eye makes my issues more visible, but it doesn’t mean others don’t have their own challenges. So, I let the critics have their say while I handle my journey,” Dr. Ofweneke shared.

Dr. Ofweneke was previously married to gospel singer Nicah The Queen, and the couple gained public attention by openly sharing their love life on social media. However, their marriage ended in 2016 after two years, following a public fallout. Nicah accused Ofweneke of domestic violence and infidelity, though the comedian denies ever being unfaithful during their marriage.
“The day I cheated was the day I left Nicah. I never cheated while we were together. I went out, did what I was accused of, and then went back home to leave,” he admitted. Despite their differences, the two co-parent their two daughters.
In 2019, Dr. Ofweneke introduced another woman, Christine, to whom he proposed in 2021. However, after three years, their relationship ended. While the details of their split remain private, the pair shares a child together.
Currently, Dr. Ofweneke is in a relationship with Mariam Baraza, whom he publicly introduced as his wife in July this year.
