Dr Mohamed Bahaidar triumph story, from low-performing student to world renowned author

There’s a common saying that falling down is an accident but staying down is a choice and if you ask me, it embodies the life of one Dr Mohamed Bahaidar.

You see, the 32-year old motivational speaker, trainer and author wasn’t the brightest student. Actually, his teachers used to make fun of him because of his bad grades.

Bahaidar says that he would come second last in his class and his English teacher would read out his composition to the rest of the class to make them laugh.

However, when he turned 18, he met a man known as Babu Ali Mandhry who became his mentor and advised him to read self help books.

Bahaidar then established a culture of reading and one day he came across a book titled Why Students Fail While It’s Easy To Pass and it really motivated him and made him understand that it all begins in your mind.

Bahaidar says that he also developed a keen interest on how the human mind works and matters spirituality so much so that when he proceeded for his university studies in Malaysia, he became the best performing student.

He changed his mentality from a person many people saw as dumb to a top student. Actually, he has written a book titled The Point Of Deflection where he explains what makes a person change their thoughts and habits.

To date, Bahaidar – who holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Management – has written 4 other books titled A Household of Bliss, Sparkling Hope, The Hidden Self and Mirror Reflection.

He has also won the Meena Personal Brand Award, which is the most distinguished award in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. That aside, he also a regular panelist on BBC Swahili Radio where he talks about societal issues.

Bahaidar’s goal is to motivate students and he has been to several universities across the world as he seeks to make them realize their full potential. He is currently looking for ways to advise the government on social and economic development and growth.
